NOTE: C-Lab™ is an absolute pre-requisite for attendance
Training and enabling people to be able to come up with new and unique solutions to business problems is definitely the way forward for organizations fighting for a piece of the ‘innovation’ pie. But if these people and ideas are met with resistance, fear, and skepticism, the entire exercise is not only a waste of time, but can have long reaching negative effects on future creative potential.
Leaders are faced with a triple whammy in this situation; they are not just expected to THINK creatively, but to be able to separate good ideas from bad, support teams through uncertainty, understand where the ‘risk’ lines are, and keep people motivated and excited through failure and success. No pressure.
In Creative Charge, we’ll explore the realities of leading people through the process of ‘breaking sense to make sense’ in order to reach business innovation goals. We’ll go deeper into the organizational science and research behind empowered creativity; from team dynamics to the benefits of multiple-idea implementation and more. We’ll provide simple tools to ensure that the right problem is being solved, as well as for assessing the doability of ideas despite how challenging they may be to the brain’s concept of the ‘norm’. We’ll discuss the process of risk-taking and uncertainty, how to lead through and even encourage failure, and in a ‘meta’ creative exercise, we’ll use techniques learned in C-Lab™ to problem solve through real and perceived barriers to their teams using C-Lab™ to reach their goals on a daily basis.
With the combination of their C-Lab™ training and learning from Creative Charge, leaders should come away more confident, clear, and courageous about how to face the challenges of not just bringing creativity to organizational life, but making it work for them on a day-to-day basis to help solve business problems both big and small.
