From the moment you meet Dahlia, you’ll understand why she’s Combustion’s resident ‘Honer'. For her entire career, Dahlia has been a hardcore ‘get it done’ person.
Dahlia’s career began far from the learning and development space. But she’s always been the kind of visionary and people lover required to be successful in it.
Back in 1995, she helped launch the very first online bookstore in Canada. But skepticism abounded and she was told, “no one would ever buy a book online.” Years later, Chapters came knocking and asked for Dahlia’s help in building an online bookstore with the Globe and Mail. (Take THAT late adopters!)
Dahlia’s expertise in digital publishing ultimately led her to work in marketing and she later moved to Digital Cement – one of Canada’s first digital agencies. From there she moved to bigger and badder agencies and ultimately pioneered some of the first social media campaigns for clients like SC Johnson. It wasn’t long before she became Managing Director of the digital division for one of Canada’s largest shopper marketing agencies where she worked with Loblaws, Schick, Cadbury, and many more.
It was there that Dahlia encountered Combustion for the first time, taking part in their game changing presentation skills program. Soon she decided to take her years of experience and apply them to what she loved most – helping humans grow and thrive. Where better to do it than with the training company that she’d seen first hand inspire and change her own people?
In Dahlia’s words "a place where I could help people be better at their jobs every single day AND help grow an organization that I believed in? It was a no brainer and a dream come true.”
Ditto Dahlia. Ditto.
