At 6’ 1, Cheyenne Legerton literally stands head and shoulders above the crowd. Ironically, this is the least of what makes her stand out.
Cheyenne came to Combustion’s attention when she attended a Leslie-run training session for the Ad Lounge’s Next Generation Dinner Series, which gives the best of the best advertising, marketing and communication grads an opportunity to schmooze industry leaders.
Perhaps it was Cheyenne’s background as a competitive rugby player that helped her shine (she’s the former captain of the York University Women’s Rugby team and an Ontario University Athletics Provincial All-Star). Or maybe it was because she was a multiple scholarship winner in York’s Communication Studies program. Or was it her time studying in France that gave her that little extra ‘je ne sais quoi’? Maybe it was that Cheyenne was a fearless bad ass during the Ad Lounge training. Whatever it was, it was enough to get Leslie’s attention and when Combustion put out a call for an admin assistant, Cheyenne answered it. Leslie hired her immediately – and it took about 5 minutes of working with her for everyone to realize that they had struck gold. Within 3 weeks, Cheyenne had been promoted to Marketing Coordinator.
Aside from everyone having neck ache from looking up at her (and to her), it’s the perfect end to the perfect beginning.
