Trainer & External Combustor
When Billy was 5 years old, his mom heard him crying in his room. She asked what was wrong and he said, “You’re born, you live for a while, then you die. What’s the point?”
As a trainer and coach, Billy now helps leaders, teams and organizations be more courageous, creative and confident so they can figure out their own “point” and make it a reality.
He is an international Courage Coach & Speaker and the author of “Your Comfort Zone Is Killing You.”
Previously, Billy was an ad agency professional in Europe and Canada, a fundraising executive for UNICEF, an apple picker in New Zealand, and a sugar cane farmer in Costa Rica. He also spent 10 years leading wilderness expeditions for Outward Bound. He has a Business degree from Carleton University and a professional coaching certification from the International Coach Federation.
Billy continually steps out of his comfort zone in order to grow his courage. He has jumped out of an airplane exactly 101 times. He’s traveled to over 40 countries, has run with the bulls in Spain, swam with sharks in South America and built a school on a tiny island near Fiji. He once carried a canoe 42 kms (26 miles) in two days to raise money to send kids in need to summer camp. And he’ll also make up a song on the spot on his guitar and sing it just for you.
Billy admits to being scared of the exact same things as everyone else: failure, looking stupid, and not being liked – none of which are even remotely possible because he’s brave, brilliant and totally loveable.
