Fight to End Cancer

In 2015, Combustion became involved with the Fight to End Cancer in an unusual way. Leslie Ehm decided she was going to join the fight – literally. She was selected to be one of the boxers who would step into the right in front of 800 guests at a black tie event and fight her first sanctioned amateur bout to raise money for Princess Margaret Cancer Hospital. And on May 27, 2015, she did just that.

Ever since that incredible day, after months and months of intensive training and raising over $22,000 for the cause, the entire Combustion team has been onboard.

Today, we are a premiere sponsor of the event (known as FTEC), and for the last 2 years, have personally contributed time, money, and people to the cause. We’re incredibly proud to be a part of this event, this family and this team and urge you to donate to help us all end cancer in our lifetime.

Next Generation Dinner Series

Ad Lounge, an organization serving the marketing, advertising, digital media, and communication communities, runs its annual ‘Next Gen Dinner’ series to help the best and brightest grads connect with industry leaders. Every year, hundreds of applicants vie for a spot as one of 72 finalists who ultimately get to spend a networking dinner with a relevant CEO, agency lead or industry superstar – all in an attempt to get noticed and maybe, just maybe, get hired. As part of the prep for this dinner of a lifetime, Combustion President & Fire Starter puts them through a gruelling training session. No holds barred, Leslie challenges participants to “fly their freak flags high”, “do their homework” and “show up large”. The results range from soaring confidence, to new self-awareness, and a true understanding of the opportunity before them.

TPL is a national charity with the mission to inspire every Canadian to contribute to the resilience and well-being of our military and Veteran families. Since 2009, TPL has provided more than $18 million to support military families, including supporting more than 100 community-based programs across the country that address the unique challenges resulting from service including mental health, physical rehabilitation, transitioning to civilian life, and the special needs of children.

We’re thrilled that Bruce Sellery and Leslie Ehm could spend some time with TPL helping to amp up their presentation skills in order to get their vital message across. We love you ladies!!
